Charles Schulz was the biggest influence on my cartoons and on my life, and it was Bill Melendez who brought Schulz's vision into the medium that I now aspire to work in. There is not much I can put into words of how much this saddens me. He will be truly missed...

Oh man! I know, I found out recently too! I'm actually related to the guy. Its my moms maiden name. My grandma and uncle collected a ton of things he worked on for peanuts. I didn't know too much about him when I was younger or met em for that matter but family members said good things about him. Now that im older I truly admire being related to such an amazing person.

Oh wow, that's amazing. I have a friend whose aunt worked with Schulz and Melendez on some level, and she has a ton of different originals and different things from the both of them.

Yeah same with my uncle an grandma. I should see if they can dig that stuff up again so I can see it.
